Awesome vintage Postmodern Dakota Jackson Vik–Ter 1 diningchairs comprised of black iron frames, orange molded plywood seat and backs,and maple veneer. Beautiful condition, keeping in mindthat these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. However,they have been completely refinished in their original color. Bold AND Beautiful!! This is a PHENOMENAL set of 8 gorgeousvintage postmodern orange Dakota Jackson Vik-Ter 1 dining chairs with blackwelded steel bases. Their original home was the Topeka Public Library which in1998 was redesigned by the internationally renowned architect Michael Graves.The 100,000 square foot addition project’s furniture was completely specifiedby him as well. Not so coincidentally, Michael Graves collaborated withcelebrity designer Dakota Jackson to design some of the most avant-garde andhigh style furniture in the 1980’s, including such works as the Vik-Ter diningchair. This chair design includes a welded steel frame with a cross stretcherand molded plywood seat and back. The Vik-Ter chair received a silver award forenvironmental design in the 1992 Industrial Design Excellence Awards and wasshown in exhibitions at The Weatherspoon Art Gallery, Museum of Arts andDesigns, and Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
