Thrifting find. Vintage porcelain or ceramic vase, marked made in Japan. It's about 9.5" tall. I don't know a thing about Japanese vases, but I believe it is considered Satsuma style. Some of the details in the design look handpainted, but other elements, such as the two peacocks and large flowers, appear to be decal transfers. Stylized elephant head handles are on either side at the shoulders. The base color is ivory or cream, and is crazed throughout. There are a few light tan stains and the inside is stained. I could find no chips, or cracks beyond the glaze crazing. There is some wear to the gold paint on the rim. Please take a look at the photos and let me know if you have any questions.
