Sometimes referred to as the \"Owl Eye\" for its resemblance to the nocturnal hooter, the Zenith Royal 500 was an extremely popular, high quality portable transistor radio from its inception in 1955 to 1965. This particular model is the Royal 500 B introduced in 1956. It had somewhat larger knobs and came in three new colors. These radios featured a large, high quality central speaker, a headphone jack and a metal stand that doubled as a handle. Zenith advertised this radio as having an \"unbreakable nylon\" case and 7 transistors.
Requires 2 \"AA\" batteries (not included).This one is in very good condition with occasional superficial scuffs to the case and metallic trim.
