This postal card from the Office of the Auditor for the Post Office Department at the Treasury Department in Washington, D. C. reports to the Postmaster in Whittlesey, Ohio, that an audit has been completed and that no balance is due.
I'm not certain where the community of Whittlesey would have been-- perhaps Lake County or Cuyahoga County, Ohio?
This postal card did not require traditional postage. It was postmarked in December of 1900 in Washington, D. C. and sent to Whittlesey, Ohio.
After the years the item may show some typical wear.
