The pictures show this white oval serving platter from many different angles with some close ups.

The back has a mark with two lions.Abovethe mark it has "IRON STONE CHINA" and below the mark it has "EXTRA QUALITY". The monogram S C Co can be seen in the middle of the back stamp (picture before last)

I am not sure who manufactured this platter. Perhaps an er that is more knowledgeable will let me know.

According to Gates and Armerod, thismark is that of "The Standard Pottery Co." of East Liverpool, Ohio (1886-1910). That date would make it an antique platter (older than 100 years). This information is found in another book "American Pottery Marks" by Gerald DeBolt, but he does not agree with the former two authors (see last picture).

This piece is ingood used condition considering its age.

It has no chips or cracks.

It has utensil marks/scratches from use.

There aresome tiny dark spots present which I think are from the manufacturer. Youmight be able to see them in the pictures (for example first picture top right).

Some of the edges are not perfectly smooth.

The platter measures about 13 3/4 by about 9" when measuring across the top.
