WW1 British Army Watkins Clinometer w/ Case:

Up for sale is what I believe is a WW1 era British Army Watkins Clinometer with its leather case. Its in great shape and appears to be working correctly. I believe these were used for setting machine gun and artillery fire along with general topography work. The clinometer works smoothly and I am not exactly sure how to read. There is a scale inside that gives you positive degrees in black and negative degrees in red. The mechanism has an indicator that reads the degrees when the unit is rotated. There is a very small knob on the side of the unit you have to move to release the mechanism to allow it to read the angle. Stamped on a brass plate on the cover is the following...

Above that stamped on the lid is the British Broad Arrow stamp and the letter I.
Leather case is in great shape with some typical wear from handling and storage. I can just make out a number lightly scratched on the lid. Thanks for looking.
