This is definitely a mystery to me as what this came off of? I think possibly a halftrack or a tank as a spare papers box for the weapons. It is in heavily used condition with much wear and surface rust but has that patina. Inside is rough as well but has 4 openings in the bottom. My guess it was on the outside of the vehicle and needed a non solid bottom to drain rain water. Has two mounting brackets and a heavy duty snap on the front. If you know ww2 vehicles and know what this belongs too, I'd love to hear it. Please ask any questions and I'll try to answer them the best I can. Thanks
