WWI Broadie 1917 M1917a1 Kelly Named WWII Used Helmet W Liner:

WWI US made, 1917 pattern helmet comes with name placed on helmet by surviving niece. These were used in WW1 and some were reused to make the M1917A1 helmets just before WW2. Some call them broadie helmets but after the war some of these helmets were converted into the M1917A1 Kelly helmets. It seems for an American GI stationed in Alaska in the beginning of the war might as well issue them an old version helmet since the M1s were being shipped off to Europe and the pacific. Feel free to correct me though. Named to a PFC Frank Grau the liner is very dry and is crumbling to the touch. Helmet has marking of what looks like 40/A12
