WWI US M1917 Mounted Canteen, Base Hospital #42 - Named & Engraved:

For sale is a WWI US M1917 Mounted Canteen, made by Landers, Frary and Clark in 1918. The canteen is accompanied by a cover made by Merwyus Campbell in 1917, and a cup of unknown date.

This set is named to 1LT Charles E. Waters of Base Hospital #42, France. Charles E. Waters engraved both sides of his cup with his name and unit information. Unfortunately, running his name through a search on Fold3 does not populate any positive matches.

The original leather carrying strap has been replaced with a canvas strap, which allows it to be carried over the shoulder. This personalized touch adds an interesting element to the item.
