This is a really neat example of a WWI German ersatz bayonet. It exhibits the traits of a crude and rushed wartime made bayonet. My guess would be that this came from the Solingen factory, but I cannot say for sure. At some point this made its way to Turkey, likely while it was still organized as the Ottoman Empire. I imagine it would fit on a Gewehr 88, G1 FAL or G3 rifle. I don’t have any of those to test. Either way it’s a very cool piece of history with honest wear and a long service life. There is no rust or putting on the bayonet or scabbard that I have observed. Please message me with any questions Thanks for looking!
