Click to see full size image.To my buyers: For years I have done business on using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives.

This WWII German Late War Raw Edge Helmet was pulled from the rafters last month in the old section of Detroit during an estate clean out. I believe it has been up there in the rafters for decades.

This WWII German Early War Raw Edge Helmet is as found and remains uncleaned (see photos). It has some surface dirt/light corrosion and some light rusting but is complete with the liner & painted exterior as shown (see photos). All rivets remain in place, appear original and are solidly attached (see photos). The liner shows some expected deterioration from storage and has some spits to the seams (see photos). It is all there but some fingers tips are broken and the original drawstring has been moved to holes down from the tips (see photos). The interior crown shows some light rusting as well (see photos). The German soldier\'s name is painted to the rear interior edge - looks like Schot but I can\'t really make it out (see photos). There is no chinstrap although the aluminum attachments remain to both sides (see photos). The only stamping I could find appears to be a size - 066 (see photos). The remains of a forest green colored paint are evident and there is some sort of white cross to the top (see photos). I have no idea if this was once a camou pattern (see photos). You can clearly see considerable wear and paint loss to the exterior crown as well as what appears to be a shrapnel dent to the right side front (see photos). When I look closely to the left side there is a shield shaped shadow just below the vent indicating it once had a decal (see photos).

This is real \"out of the woodwork\" German WWII helmet that remains untouched/uncleaned. It is the real deal and has a great \"been there\" look\". It could be reworked for a re-enactor, repainted as a camou or just displayed as is. Hard to say where this helmet saw use but it saw a lot. Would make a nice restoration project. Absolutley guaranteed a real period piece.
