I almost got fooled in believing this jacket was period due to the exterior sun fading of the material vs the more fresh color on the interior. That was until i found the 1992 contract label inside one of the lower pockets. to my knowledge, this may be one of the earliest post-war contract for these (just over 30 years ago). They weren\'t as popular to collect until Band of Brothers aired in the early 2000s, along with the movie Saving Private Ryan. This contract for a quality / true specification jacket was before that time.
Like I said, the exterior is a tan color that screams \"real\" with some minor wear and traces of where the 1st Airborne patch was removed. Size marked 42R, but I would say this runs a little smaller, more like 40/41R.Shoulder to shoulder seams = 19 inches, front length from collar to skirt = 29 inches, armpit to armpit across front when jacket is flat on floor = 18 inches.
If you are buying to wear this, you\'ll need to pay the return shipping if it doesn\'t fit. I think this is worthy as a period display and hoping it sells toward a display.
