Hello and thanks for looking, up for sale is this VZ-24 Czechoslovak bayonet. This great collectible is in overall good condition for its age and is authentic.The 11.5" blade has a dark patina and is free from dents or heavy pits and is still in its original storage oil. The leather frog rates very good with only miner handling marks. The steel scabbard has some dents in the metal however it does not interfere with inserting/drawing the blade. This bayonet measurers 17.5" over all in length and would make a good addition to any military or knife collection.
The VZ–24 rifle and bayonet resulted from input by Czechoslovak cavalry forces, who found that the VZ–23 rifle and bayonet were not well suited for cavalry use. They requested rifle modifications of the 400mm blade to be shortened by 100mm, resulting in the VZ–24 bayonet 300 mm blade becoming the standard bayonet for Czechoslovak forces.
