Wedgwood Jasperware Cobalt dip Bough pot or Potpourri vase and cover ca. 1820: $2250.00
This is a rare 19th century Wedgwood (only) Jasperware cobalt dip Potpourri Vase and cover. It is shape #1000 made by Wedgwood ca 1820. The vase is dipped in cobalt. The domed and pieced cover is decorated with applied white florets, the shallow bowl with arabesque florals, mounted atop a raised socle with acanthus leaf border, square plinth with urn centering cornucopia to each side. The interior with dome screw cover cap is glazed. The pot is is good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, aside from typical minor firing cracks during production. It is 6 3/4\" tall, 7\" in diameter. The widest point of the base is 4\" x 4\". It is impressed Wedgwood only which dates this piece prior to 1891 and has a few pattern marks on the bottom J and 1000. Weighs 3.5 lbs. Winning buyer to pay within 2 days of sale close.
