1/4 Daguerreotype Man & Wife Pebbled Leather Case + Photographer Business Card:

Quarter-plate daguerreotype of a man and his wife, housed in a very nice, pebbled leather push button case. Behind the image is a partial business card with "J. OSCAR B" visible, the rest missing, but this is enough to identify the potential photographer, or at least the full name and business on the card, as J. Oscar Bill, Union Daguerreotype Gallery, 281 Main St., in Hartford, Connecticut.
Dag is unsealed.. it has a tarnish ring and is in overall very good antique condition. There appear to be some light scratches on the man's forehead and slightly above his head that have tarnished, which is mostly why they are even visible, as well as a vertical scratch through the left side of the man's face, ending at about the bottom of his shirt... this in particular is extremely light and very hard to see, even if you know it's there. I can't even see it unless I'm looking hard for it under magnification. The spot to the left of the man's hand is green corrosion.
The case is complete and intact and is in excellent antique condition. Metal hinges on spine, functioning push-button latch.
