1/4 Daguerreotype Young Couple Holding Open Cased Photo Mourning / Memorial PIP:

Quarter-plate daguerreotype of good looking, well-dressed young couple, the woman holding an open daguerreotype, possibly for memorial purposes. The dag she is holding is very reflective, so I can't make out any details of it, but considering their age and the fact that there are no children in the photo with them, I wonder if the dag is of their lost child, potentially a post mortem portrait?
Dag is unsealed in full leather case (about 4.75" x 3.5" closed). Plate has a tarnish ring and light haze, but it's really a nice image in hand, looks nicer to me than my scan, and there is no scratch/abrasion/corrosion type of damage noted. The case covers are separated along the spine and the pad side is missing its interior rail.
