120X68 Vtg Antique MADEIRA EMBROIDERED CUTWORK CREAM LINEN BANQUET Tablecloth:

You are offerding on a vintage antique tablecloth. It is completely handmade in Maderia, Portugal. It\'s exquisite! It must of taken years to make this piece!!!!!!!

Spots: I gave it a hand washing along with a hand ironing. It has a few little faint yellow specks left on it, I took a picture with a close up. There are very many left so they should easily come out with a second wash or a soak.

Holes / Damage / Flaws: I saw two teeny tiny broken lace pieces. By that I mean when you are looking at the hand made lace webbing that\'s like 1/4 inch long in some places...I only saw two of them that had a break in them. Easily fixed...5 minutes and a needle and thread and they will be fixed.

Measurements: 120 x 68 inches.

Fabric: Beautiful creamy heavy linen.

Cutwork: Done by hand

Scalloped Edges: Done by hand

These highly skilled embroidery & needlework techniques are known as Madeira. The women of Madeira have been creating the finest embroidery known since the early 1800\'s. They only use the finest of linen to embroider on... like organdy & Irish linen. They incorporate highly skilled handwork such as Broderie Anglaise Eyelet, Richelieu Cut Work & heavily padded satin stitches on their exquisite & expertly made textiles. Some of the larger, more ornate tablecloths were created by several embroideresses & still took months & sometimes years to finish. All authentic Madeira is made in MADEIRA Portugal.
