The carving on the cross indicates a name ( Alice Monnier) and a date ( 34) mostly 1834 in view of the style and carving of the cross.
Pictures show clearly the whole design.
It is in pristine condition.
The cross pendant is sold with a heavy Sterling chain that suits it perfectly, which is not of the same period ( probably early 20th Century ) with an exquisite rarely seen design entirely hand made .
Dimensions of the cross are : 95 x 45 mm inclusive of bail ring . ( 3.8 x 1.8 in.) . Thickness is 5.3 mm (0,22 in.)
Weight of the medal alone is a heavy 25.4 grams
The chain is 64 cm long ( 25.6 in. ) and weighs 62.23 grams.
Total Sterling Silver : a very heavy 87.63 -- nearly 3 troy ounces !!!!
