GEBURTS UND TAUF-SCHEIN
Broadside, 15.5 by 18.25 inches framed, under glass. Text in German. The framed birth and baptismal certificate has pictures of angels, birds, flowers, the American Eagl. Also poetry in German script. This copy was filled in by hand in 1843, documenting the birth and baptism of Levina Ott, on January 29, 1843, daughter of Henrick Ott & Maria Messer (married on November 22, 1842), in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
An early example of American color printing by one of the earliest of American color printers.
Nice condition overall, the document itself does show some evidence of some dampstaining along the periphery. Frame in good condition, though the backing on the frame was reinforced at some point along the way with duct tape.
