1865This is a single sheet only which is over 150 years old. It was published near the end of the Civil War, in the March 4, 1865 issue of Harper\'s Weekly, America’s leading illustrated paper during the 1800s. It measures 11 x 16 inches in size and is in excellent condition, with only a slight bit of age toning.The bottom half of the page is devoted to an engraving of the new court house in Brooklyn, based on a sketch by J. Wells. Above this illustration is a short bit of text titled, “KINGS COUNTY COURT-HOUSE.” This item says, in its entirety:“We give on this page an exterior view of Kings County Court-House, in the City of Brooklyn. This edifice is near the City Hall; it has been in the process of erection for the last four years, and is now completed. Mr. GAMALIEL KING is the architect.
