Description:It is an authentic antique map approximately 145 years old from T.B. Van Horne\'s History of the Army of the Cumberland, with the maps compiled by Edward Ruger, published in Cincinnati, 1875.Afacsimilecopy of the atlas title page isincluded for authenticity.The publication was actually anordered requested by General Thomas to document the history of the Cumberland Army. Edward Ruger, who served underMajor General Thomas during the Civil War was naturally tasked with the job since he had served under Thomas as his Superintendent of Topographical Engineers, whose team drewup maps of the theater of war with entrenchments, fortications, natural obstacles, roads, rivers, etc. for the war effort. Ruger also had full access to the Sectretary of War Topographical Department which included many of these maps, sketches, notes, as well as direct consultation with General Thomas and the use of his Military Journal, The topographical map as we know it today was actually created by the Department of War during the Civil War due to the need for better maps. Rupert based his maps on those topos overlaying them with troop positions and events through researchto create a set of historically accurate maps to illustrate theHistory of the Cumberland Army.It is really a very well designed map with a lot of good documentation and information printed on the map.The publishing and printing details are in the bottom margin and a copyright date in the upper right corner that reads, \"Copyright 1875 by E. Ruger & T.B. Van Horne,\" and the title of the publication History of the Army of the Cumberlandis stated in the upper left.It is not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as a single map as seen in the main pic. Overall, it is a scarce map in very good condition. Pics are of the actual map

Condition:Very Good to Excellent, blank on reverse with two folds as issued. Overall, it is a nice strong impression with bright color on a strong bright page that would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
