1880\'s-1890\'s VICTORIAN TRADE CARD ALBUM, 315 CARDS, INCLUDING SOME RARE ONES:

In this listing we are offering a Victorian trade card (advertising card) album. There are approximately 315 or so cards in the album which are attached to 54 sides of pages. Approximately 18 cards are religious & are not ad related cards. Some of cards shown in our pics do not advertise any specific product on the fronts. But, it is likely that the products on these are advertised on the backs. We have put 24 photos in this listing which show the major majority of the cards contained in the album. The only cards not shown in the photos are the 18 religious cards & 6 cards showing flowers. Otherwise. all of the cards are shown. These cards were all collected in the Victorian period & were all glued on to the pages of a recycled book of some sort, possibly a ledger book. A number of the cards have assorted flaws.
Included are a number of very interesting, colorful, & attractive, cards as well as some which are rare. We will list a few of our personal favorite cards which are: 1. Three cards titled \"Our Hobby\" which are political related cards showing comical poses of well known men riding strange things. These have pencil marks., 2. Five colorful & attractive cards from the Biliousine series., 3. One card showing The Bartholdi statue which is the Statue of Liberty. A very large card version not often seen., 4. One card showing the Imperial Machine Tableau \"The World\". A very dramatic, colorful, & exciting card., 5. Three cards from the Shaneman\'s Flour series showing eggs & three different types of birds cracking through their shells. Quit a charming group., 6. One card is connected with the \"Grand Excursion of Wayne Council to Atlantic City July, 4, 1881 by Camden & Atlantic Railroad\". A very interesting subject on a superbly detailed, attractive, & probably quite a rare card., 7. A very dramatic & colorful scenic \"Viriato Oliver Denia\" label. This is quite large as it measures 11 inches by 7 3/8 inches., 8. There is a shoe store ad which shows assorted U.S. coins & U.S. paper money. Shown on the card are Liberty Seated silver coins including a silver dollar & a dime. Also shown is a silver U.S.trade dollar as well as a one dollar gold coin & a five dollar gold coin & some paper currency.
In any event, if you carefully examine the 24 photos provided you should have an excellent idea of the album contents. This interesting album is a fresh to the market Lancaster County, Pa. estate find. We have not added or taken away any cards from the album which is being offered just as we found it.
