Item up for sale is an astounding hardback book by Samuel Gilman Brown titled \"The Life of Rufus Choate\". This sixth edition was published in 1891 by Little, Brown and Company and has 498 numbered pages (including index). Choate was a notable Massachusetts Senator, Congressman, Lawyer and Orator who served in the U.S. Senate as a Whig from 1841-1845. Cover boards show some age appropriate patina and soiling with pages showing age appropriate yellowing. Corners of cover boards show some age and use appropriate shelf wear to the corners. Hinge paper on interior of covers shows some splitting and wear. Binding is tight with all pages intact. Blank page prior to title page shows an old, pencil written, used book store price. Book measures 7-3/4\" top to bottom by 5-1/4\" wide by 1-3/8\" in depth. Fantastic piece that comes fresh to the market.
