Up for sale is this ORIGINAL, Very RARE, Circa 1893, Sepia-Toned, Albumen Cabinet Card. It is a COMPOSITE photograph showing: Brigham Young & Wives ~ Copyright 1893 ~ Arranged and copied for the proprietors by The Johnson Co. Salt Lake. Albumen image has very good contrast for age, so obviously wasn\'t displayed. The cabinet card measures 6 1/2\" high by 4 1/4\" wide. The photo paper itself measures approximately 5 7/16\" high by 3 7/8\" wide.This would make an OUTSTANDING addition to ANY Mormon/LDS, Cabinet Card, Salt Lake City, Johnson Co.,Religious, Famous Person, or Historical collection.
There are several different composition photo cabinet cards of Brigham Young and His Wives. Most are scarce, but findable.HOWEVER I consider this SPECIFIC Image to be Very RARE because I ONLY found ONE other sale of a cabinet card with an IDENTICAL IMAGE. An internet search didn\'t help me find any other sales either!!!Please enlighten me if you know anything more about the image, where it was sold, etc.!!!
In 1893, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performed at the World\'s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, IL. Due to the apparent Rarity of this Specific composite cabinet card photo, it makes me wonder if this card was sold at the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair (while the \"easier\" to find composite cabinet cards were sold in Salt Lake City). Considering it came from a Southern WI estate (within 150 miles of Chicago) doesn\'t hurt the theory either!!!
