1897 Pabst Beer Pre-Pro Brigham Young Utah stein.Made in the USA, this heavy stein is 4 1/8\" high by 3 1/2\" in diameter at the bottom. Stein depicts, on left side: picture of Brigham Young inside of shield, on right side: picture of beehive inside of shield over which is a banner dated Sept 9 and at bottom of shield is printed 1850, and centered between the shields is a Pabst Milwaukee round seal, at the top is 1847 at bottom is 1897. 5/8\" recessed bottom has the Pabst Milwaukee seal under the glaze. Made in 1897 for the 50th anniversary (Jubilee) of the Mormons arriving in Utah. Word on the internet is, the mug was not authorized, and the Mormon church ordered production stopped, then destroyed all the mugs still for sale in Salt Lake City shops. Light crazing, not reaching the surface, otherwise great condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
