1. This is a postcard Portrait of Members of the Sreda in 1902: Stepan Gavrilovich Skitalets; Leonid Nikolaievich Andreyev; Feodor Ivanovich Chaliapin; Maxim Gorky; Ivan Alekseyevich Bunin; Nikolai Dmitryevich Teleshov and Evgeny Nikolayevich Chirikov. Lifetime edition. 1902. Good condition.
Stepan Gavrilovich Skitalets (Russian: Степан Гаврилович Скиталец, born Petrov, Russian: Петров; 9 November 1869 – 25 June 1941) was a Russian/Soviet poet, writer of fiction and folk musician. The name Skitalets means \"wanderer\" in Russian.
Leonid Nikolaievich Andreyev (Russian: Леони́д Никола́евич Андре́ев, 21 August [O.S. 9 August] 1871 – 12 September 1919) was a Russian playwright, novelist and short-story writer, who is considered to be a father of Expressionism in Russian literature. He is regarded as one of the most talented and prolific representatives of the Silver Age period. Andreyev\'s style combines elements of realist, naturalist, and symbolist schools in literature. Of his 25 plays, his 1915 play He Who Gets Slapped is regarded as his finest achievement.
Feodor Ivanovich Chaliapin (Russian: Фёдор Ива́нович Шаля́пин; February 13 [O.S. February 1] 1873 – April 12, 1938) was a Russian opera singer. Possessing a deep and expressive bass voice, he enjoyed an important international career at major opera houses and is often credited with establishing the tradition of naturalistic acting in his chosen art form.During the first phase of his career, Chaliapin endured direct competition from three other great basses: the powerful Lev Sibiriakov (1869–1942), the more lyrical Vladimir Kastorsky (1871–1948), and Dmitri Buchtoyarov (1866–1918), whose voice was intermediate between those of Sibiriakov and Kastorsky. The fact that Chaliapin is far and away the best remembered of this magnificent quartet of rival basses is a testament to the power of his personality, the acuteness of his musical interpretations, and the vividness of his performances.
Alexei Maximovich Peshkov (Russian: Алексе́й Макси́мович Пешко́в[a] 28 March [O.S. 16 March] 1868 – 18 June 1936), popularly known as Maxim Gorky (Russian: Макси́м Го́рький), was a Russian writer and political activist. He was nominated five times for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Before his success as an author, he travelled widely across the Russian Empire changing jobs frequently, experiences which would later influence his writing.
Ivan Alekseyevich Bunin (Russian: Ива́н Алексе́евич Бу́нин; 22 October [O.S. 10 October] 1870 – 8 November 1953) was the first Russian writer awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. He was noted for the strict artistry with which he carried on the classical Russian traditions in the writing of prose and poetry. The texture of his poems and stories, sometimes referred to as \"Bunin brocade\", is considered to be one of the richest in the language.
Nikolai Dmitryevich Teleshov (Russian: Никола́й Дми́триевич Телешо́в) (November 10, 1867 - March 14, 1957) was a Russian/Soviet writer.
Evgeny Nikolayevich Chirikov (Russian: Евге́ний Никола́евич Чи́риков; 5 August 1864 – 18 January 1932), was a Russian novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, and publicist. The Moscow Literary Sreda (Russian: Моско́вская Литерату́рная Cреда, romanized: Moskovskaya Literaturnaya Sreda/Moskovskaja Literaturnaja Sreda) was a Moscow literary group founded in 1899 by Nikolai Teleshov. The name Sreda means Wednesday, taken from the day of the week on which writers and other artists met at Teleshov\'s home. The last meeting of the Sreda took place in 1916.2.
