$19.99

Hi,I sell more than collectables, I sell stories. Read if you want detailed information or just look at the detailed photos.DescriptionFour Photos of The Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 as it comes in for a landing and is moored.HistoryThese photos caught me off guard. All are approx 3 1/2" X 2 1/4". They looked like they are very old from the late 1920s-1930s. They were all together in one collection. Upon inspection, I can see that three of them look related based on the three white sided boarders. The one with a very little white border looks as if it was taken at another time or with another camera. Lets talk about the single one. That photo is definitely B/W and the person in the photo, the gentleman with the suit and hat, is the subject. That is the Graf Zeppelin LZ-127's gondola in the back ground. that photo could have been taken anytime between 1928-1937, though I think it is a bit later and most likely in the States. Onto the other three. The one with the Graf Zeppelin name in large letters almost has a tint of color to it though it could just be over exposed. The other two show the Graf Zeppelin in the air just before landing and the other moored. The one that is moored to the mast is interesting. It is pretty hard to say where it was moored but that is what they call a Type B mast. There was one built in 1927 at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Illinois hosted the 1933 Century of Progress in Chicago where the Graf Zeppelin landed. The crew from Scott Air Force Base were the ground crew for that landing. That mooring mast is not the same as the one in Chicago. I am not sure if the Graf Zeppelin ever moored at Scott Air Force Base. I will leave this mystery up to you!!! Ok, what is the age of these three photographs. Strangely enough, all three photos are printed on Fujicolor paper which didn't come out until the 1960s. This makes me think that these were reprinted based on the format in the 1960s. They are very detailed and of high quality. I guess someone printed B/W negatives onto color paper!!! Regardless, these are great photos. Are you all confused yet? I am!!!
I will ship these anywhere for $3.99. They will be packed in archival safe sleeve and shipped in a new photo mailer.
I take my shipping seriously. If you have ever purchased from me in the past, you will know that. Paper goods and photos are sent completely surrounded by acid free archival quality papers and/or acid free PVC free Polypropylene bags and covers. This cost me well spent money. I also use a variety of recycled and new packaging including boxes and mailers. I try not to profit on my shipping. Please do not misinterpret my shipping charges. I take my time when packing anything anyone buys. I don't rush it, but at the same time, I don't overdue it. I hand select packaging materials that will not only protect the items value but will protect it during shipping. By placing a offer or buying it outright, you agree to any method I use to pack your item, new or used shipping material as I see fit.
What is the best thing about my packaging? They are easy to open! How many times have you received a package only to spend ten minutes trying to open it without destroying the contents!!! No extra tape, glue, staples, or my worst fear, items shoved between two pieces of cardboard with tape on every edge requiring a surgeon's scalpel to open it!!!This is a new store for me but I have been on for over 26 years with perfect response.
I will be adding many more Zeppelin, Airship and Aviation related photos, postcards and a variety of relics over the next few days, weeks and months. Check back with me every week to see what I have added. There will be several more items up by Sunday night, unless I break another few ribs! Please contact me first with any issues.
Thanks for looking!!!
