EXCELLENT vintage condition - Absolutely beautiful.
Very rare to find an Archangel icon - most common are Madonna & Infant or Saints.
Overlay setting is marked 950 Sterling Silver purity - a second "950 Silver" mark lower right-hand corner (see photos).
The hand-applied intricate high relief setting adds wonderful depth & dimension to the piece.
The portrait of the Archangel is an original painting as is the chasing & repousse' of the setting #15 is a series of 200.
The Authenticity Certificate is applied to the back of the wood frame (*see below for content).
Hanging loop is attached by nails to the real wood back - hanging loop lays flat for easel display.
Approx measurements : 5.25" high x 4.5" wide x 3/4" depth.

* The Certificate of Authenticity on the back reads - "Our workshop 'THEOLOGOS' creates byzantine style icons from silver 950s and painting. All the subjects have been influenced artistically by museum themes, sources of the Christian church made from the 14th century till today. This drawing is hand painted and each certificate bears the signature of the artist. Limited copies will be circulated. This year our workshop is releasing 200 copies."
