It was in this town, in the year 1616, that the Koreans first introduced the art of pottery to Japan. Up to today Arita still produces ceramics made by local craftsmen using the distinctive ingredient of clay made from crushed stone.About the Nanban Ship Design:Nanban Trade Ships were galleon type in ships during the Total War Shogun 2 period. These European merchant ships were armed with powerful cannons as defence against pirate raids. European or ‘nanban’ traders are the main source for cannons and matchlock firearms, along with other valuable goods, such as silk from China.
