The Antioch Chalice was found in Syria 1910 and was believed to have belonged to a church in Antioch, one of the five cities that led the early Christian church along with Rome, Constantinople, Jerusalem, and Alexandria. When it was discovered, the inner cup was thought to be the Holy Chalice, with the gilded, footed shell being added within the first century after the death of Christ to honor the Grail. The Silver-Gilt Antioch Chalice was created around AD 500-550 and has been identified as having the shape of a standing lamp commonly used in churches in the first half of the sixth century. Potentially, it is decorated in recognition of Christ\'s words \"I am the light of the world\". It has also been determined recently that the Antioch Chalice could have been a part of a larger group of Silver objects that once belonged to the Church of Saint Sergios in the small town of Kaper Koraon near Constantinople. It was displayed as the Holy Grail at the Chicago World\'s Fair in 1933 and was later sold to The Cloisters in New York in 1950. Currently it is on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Please note that all payments must be in USA Dollars. All Credit card and Paypal payments must be shipped to billing address. All payments made with personal checks, items are held 10 business days for check to clear. Please message us if you have any further items usually ship within 24 hours of payment being received. If you need item shipped Express mail and we will do everything in our power to get item shipped as fast as possible. That will include a special trip to post office, even after shipments have been made, if that can save a day. Items in USA are shipped via USPS and are fully insured for replacement against loss and damage. in USA all boxes have a Delivery Confirmation number to confirm when package has arrived at your destination. International First Class orders, according to the USPS, can take anywhere from 3 days to 5 weeks to arrive. Usually 10 working days is a good rule of thumb. Global Priority Mail Boxes can take 3 days to 10 Days to arrive and Global Express can take 3 days to 5 days to arrive. However in USA the post office does not guarantee anything.

We use a professional shipper and you are being charged the actual shipping charges based on weight and location. We always will combine shipping when possible. For foreign customers we will address their specific needs also.

If you wish to return your order for an exchange or refund, you must first contact us by email so that your request can be processed on our system. Please do not send items back without authorization. Your return must be received back to our warehouse in the manner it was sent in original box unused. Once inspected, We will happily refund your purchase price minus any shipping charges incurred. Or you can exchange your item for another and receive a full credit towards the new item.
