This unique and rare vase is a stunning example of early 20th century (1920s) art deco design. Made by Charles Catteau for Boch in the La Louviere series in Belgium, this hand-painted ceramic vase features a beautiful floral and stripe pattern that is both eye-catching and elegant. Measuring 8.5 inches in height and with a medium size silhouette, this limited edition and retired vase is perfect for all occasions.

The vase is is a quintessential example of the amazing quality and craftsmanship Catteau put into his pieces. This is a ceramique motif fleur design with colorful mixed florals in shades of cobalt blue, yellow, burnt sienna and green. The neck of the vase is elongated and slim with a vertical pattern of cobalt and yellow stripes. The base color is an eggshell white. The details on the hand-painting are exquisite, and they are very consistent with Charles Catteau pieces. The high gloss finish and smooth texture of the vase make it an indoor decorative collectible that is sure to impress. This is an original piece from the 1920s, and its condition is quite amazing due to its age. There are no chips or cracks or scratches, the hand-painting is highly-intact with very little paint fading, and there is no crazing. The bottom is marked with the Boch La Louviere Made in Belgium logo stamp, and there are a few hard to decider markings as well, I'm assuming the number of the piece and the CT initials of the artist. The bottom has a bit of excess pottery or other hard residue, and I did not want to hurt the integrity of the vase by trying to scrape it off. You can see on the photos I circled in yellow exactly what I mean. This is simply a stunning piece of history with this handmade art deco vase that embodies the beauty and charm of the era, as well as the incredible talent of Charles Catteau. 8.5" H and 4" W at the widest part of the vase.
