Antique Gesso Gilded Oval Frame w/ Fruit & Leaf Decor/Borders - New Glass:

This is a wonderful antique oval portrait frame made of wood, with a gesso finish, in a black and gold color scheme. The borders and decor have a nature theme with fruit and leaf embellishments. It measures approximately 14.5 inches in length, 12.25 inches in width, and 1.5 inches in depth and fits an 8x10 portrait. The frame comes with new glass and hardware. It is made in the Victorian style and likely dates back to the early to mid 1800s. This frame does show signs of wear, featuring chips, cracks and broken ends of two embellishments. It appears to have been touched up in the past as these areas are coated in color and some gold still shows through. The back wooden panel is intact. This would be a lovely piece to display in its natural state for historic value or to restore. The frame is in sturdy condition with no give in the seams of the wood. See pictures for more details.
