This is a stunning, old AntiqueBarbour Intl. S.P. Co Silverplate Tavern Scene Metal Basket/serving tray with a fixed Handle. This piece dates back to the early 1900's.very single inch of this piece is repousse, including the handle!The piece depicts various scenes of celebration and was most likely in celebration of a family event such as a wedding or reunion. It is Dutch influenced as noted with the center town scene and the windmill alongside the river. The forging and sculpting is amazingly ornate and intricate not only on the plate part but also on the handle.
This piece measures approximately 10" wide by 6.5" high and has a makers mark Ball Peen hammer engraved on the back edge.
Overall condition is great for such an old piece! There is Light wear, some corrosion and copper/silver wear which only adds to the beauty of this antique piece.
This piece would be a fabulous addition to any FUN upscale, shabby chic or formal occasion.
