For sale is a very striking antique gelatin silver photograph of a beautiful woman in portrait pose.
The photo retain its original gallery label from the well regarded 19th and 20th century art gallery, Schultheis Art Galleries 15 Maiden Lane NYC.
The gallery specialized in buying and selling contemporary German, Austrian, and Hungarian paintings.
We believe the female sitter in this portrait was of European descent, given her clothing style which would make sense coming from this gallery. But we are uncertain.
The sitter sits in a profile pose turned to her right shoulder and directly engages the viewer with strikingly beautiful eyes that seem to captivate and staredeep into your soul.
We listed it as a gelatin silver photo print. However, we are not experts in early photography. As seen in our pictures, when you turn the photo to an angle, it has a complete silvery sheen surface. (See photos)

Framed in a late Victorian style oval picture frame under glass.

Schultheis' Galleries York City A gallery owned and operated by Henry Schultheis (1864-1948) until he retired at which point his family ran the gallery. He opened the first gallery in 1886, two years after imigrating to the U.S. from Flonheim Germany. Henry Schultheis retired in 1938. The gallery specialized in buying and selling contemporary German, Austrian, and Hungarian paintings.
