Craig Kodera (American, B. 1956) \"Only One Survived\" lithograph published by the Greenwich Workshop Press, circa 1995.Depicts a group of planes in battle against a pale purple and blue sky full of clouds with yellow accents.
A typed description at the center bottom reads \"Midway Island, June 4, 1942, 7:00 AM: Grumman TBF Avengers on their maiden combat flight are attacked by A6M Mitsubishi Zero fighters from the aircraft carrier Akagi.
Of all the VT-8 squadron aircraft in this aerial engagement, only 8-T-1-flown by Ensign Albert K. \"Bert\" Earnest, pilot, and Radioman Third Class Harry H. Ferrier, tunnel gunner-survived.
The following seventy-two hours were the turning point of the war in the Pacific: in sinking four of the most powerful Japanese aircraft carriers, and thereby eliminating Japan\'s most experienced pilots, The U.S. Navy set the stage for eventual victory.\"
