Dayton, KENTUCKY - The Harvard Piano - 1908: The City of Dayton, Kentucky, is a home rule-class city along a bend of the Ohio River in Campbell County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 5,338 at the 2010 census. It is less than 3 miles (5 km) from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The Harvard Piano Company was originally established in 1885 in Dayton, Kentucky. John Church (John Church & Company) and Frank Lee (President of Everett Piano Company) purchased the Harvard Piano Company in 1894, using their factories to expand manufacturing production of their upright pianos. Harvard also built upright pianos sold under the John Church & Company brand label. The Harvard Piano Company was moved from Dayton, KY to Cincinnati, OH after the turn-of-the-century.
