The Original Douai Rheims was a perfect text translation from The 384 AD Latin Vulgate. Saint Jerome translated the Hebrew and Greek Text into Latin. During the Elizabethan persecution, English monks left England to go to the colleges of Douai, France and Rheims, France to translate the Latin Vulgate into The English Rheims New Testament Bible in 1582 and English Old Testament Douai in 1609. This Bible is the base for The New Douai Rheims Bible.
Much effort has been initiated to keep this old original Douai Rheims text exactly to it originality.
