EXCELLENT WWII WESTERN L77 FIGHTING KNIFE W/ORIGINAL SHEATH. Although the Western L77 was not a U. S. military issue knife, per se, they were used by some of the Marine Corps Raiders prior to the issuance of the Raider Stiletto made by the Camillus Cutlery Company. Western L77's were sold in military post exchanges (PX's) and were purchased by many servicemen as personal fighting knives. They were made with both bright and blued blades and with both steel and brown Bakelite (plastic) guards and pommels. As shown by the photos, this knife is in excellent condition with a blued blade and steel guard and pommel. The blued blade is properly stamped, "WESTERN/BOULDER, COLO./PAT.NO,1,267,479" and is in virtually pristine condition. It comes with its original sheath.
