FALLOUT SHELTER SIGN Original U.S. Gov Issue. 10x14 Steel:
$27.99

OWN AN ORIGINAL PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY!! 1962/63 Original U.S. Government issued Fallout Shelter sign. Bottom of sign reads: “DOD FS NO.2(NOT TO BE REPRODUCED OR USED WITHOUT DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE PERMISSION)”. Measures 10” wide by 14” tall. Made of durable galvanized steel. Vintage but brand new in the original box, never used. Signs are in excellent condition and are HIGHLY reflective (see pictures). These were made in 1962/1963 as part of the “National Fallout Shelter Program” under the Kennedy administration to mark millions of underground locations (basements etc..) throughout the United States that were determined to have sufficient protection from nuclear fallout/Gamma & Beta radiation. Please note that although these signs are in overall great condition for their age, some signs may have very small areas of corrosion and or blemishes around the edges or other areas, it is impossible to document and take pictures of every single sign. Remember, these signs are over 60 years old. If you’re looking for the perfect sign that looks like it was made yesterday without a single small spot or blemish, then please feel free to find another seller who has all 100 percent perfect signs. And let me know when you find them because I’d like to purchase some from them also.. These are in almost mint condition. But understand that they have been sitting in a box for 60+ years with decades and decades of changing humidity and temperature. So there may be slight blemishes. These signs were manufactured by 2 different companies in the early 60’s, 3M and Alfray Products. The signs that came from the 3M factory had slightly “ghosted” letter styles. This is NOT a defect. Over 60% of the signs that were made have this ghosted appearance (overlay appearance in the yellow letters and triangles). See pictures. Also, the original box is not included in your purchase UNLESS you purchase the entire box of 40. I am a disabled veteran. Thanks for your support and for stopping by! And please, if there’s any problems please contact me first so that I can solve it before leaving neutral or negative response. There’s absolutely no reason to leave negative/ neutral response before contacting me first.
