False Face Mask - Full Size, Iroquois, by John Elliott, Mohawk, 2010:

This is a full size carved wooden Iroquois false face mask by Mohawk John Elliott ofSix Nations, Ontario, Canada.Face is 11" long and 7.25" at widest and 4.5" deep at the chin. It's hair is horse hair, mane or tail. The hair is 34.5" long at longest (from top of head to end of hair. It has the traditional metal around the eyes - here the metal eyeplates are silver color (some are copper). It is stained red ... as traditional, these are either red or black stained.

This mask was made by John Elliott to be displayed, as such has a leather loop on top for hanging - and while John is a member of the Medicine Mask Society - this mask was not made to be a "medicinal" or ceremonial false face mask.

It is signed inside in pen "Made by John Elliott - Six Nations - Mohawk 2010" Inside you can see the carving as John Elliott dug out this mask from a cedar log.
