Large Circa 1860s Portrait 5\"x 3 1/2\" Oval, goldtrimedPhotograph on a 9\" x 6.5\" Cabinet CardEmbossed in front:Garsides,Newark, OKLA.History of Garsides: Ada Wills, one of six children of Thomas and Elizabeth Morris Wills, was born on February 18, 1870, in Brown County, Ohio. In 1875 the family moved to Iowa, and Ada Wills married Henry L. Garside on December 24, 1890. Ada Garside became a photographer in 1895 while living in Villisca, Iowa. In 1897 the Garsides moved to Stanberry, Missouri; there she was one of three photographers listed in a business directory. Two years later they moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma Territory (O.T.), and Ada Garside opened a photography studio in the Pardoe Building, opposite the courthouse.
Condition: Fine looking with gold along the edge and around the oval.I have on idea who this lovely lady is. My godfather/uncle back in 1950\'s-60\'s owned a stamp/coin shop and traded items for coins and stamps, and gave me these treasured giftsknowing I loved antiques............About us...My husband and I want to thank you for looking at our unique treasures.
