Here is a great fossil find featuring a superb natural large ammonite, along with various bits of shells from other animals, from Belmont, in the Alsace Region of France. Plus a smaller ammonite that appears to have calcite crystals in its chambers.Collected over 50 years ago. From the mid to late Cretaceous, about 95 million years ago.
The large ammonite measures about 3.7\" at the widest. The specimen is about 6.4\" inches at the widest, and it weighs 2 lbs. 8.15 oz. There are other fossil bits of ancient sea life throughout the piece. No paint or restoration anywhere has been added.
We purchased a small collection of these a while back. They are all for sale now, when they sell out, I doubt we will see any more.
