Presenting an OutstandingFramed C.1940 Japanese Embroidered Silk Uchida Portrait of a Man Smoking his Kiseru Pipefor your offerding consideration... Measures 18 3/4\" tall X 15 1/2\" wide, fully framed. The actual work within the hand constructed wooden & glass fronted framemeasures about 13\" tall X 10 1/2\" wide.

Interesting subject matter depicts anMeiji Era clad rustic happily puffing on his Kiseru Pipe... Such pipes were used for tobacco back in the day but also used for smoking Opium..looks likes he has quite the buzz on!!

Exquisite piece has the embroidered seal \"Uchida\". Pigments of genuine silver were used in the silver metallic threading. Fine hand constructedframing features a 2 1/2\" barkcloth silk border and lacquered black wood framing on the edges. Paper and metal wire hangers on back.

The artwork remains in excellent condition, as shown..

If you note the area just above the man\'s head, there is a barely visible \"z\" shaded mark to the silk ground which is really only visible in the perfect light setting..a non issue really as I only saw it when I opened the piece to clean the glass.. The condition is truly excellent, as well shown..

Minor age wear on the wood frame and silk borders. Origin is Japan, circa 1940-1950s.

With no other flaws or damages to speak of, this isone excellently conditioned antique Asian artwork by any & all standards.

The original framing retains rock solid integrity..

I guarantee everything I sell unconditionally if you are not satisfied. I do, however, require that the item be returned in no more than 30 days following arrival and be returned in original condition. I also request that you notify me by email within 3 days of receipt of item. I do want you to be satisfied.
