Gambiered silk, also called mud silk, is the silk of highest quality. Each piece is unique; no two look exactly the same! It is dyed using natural plant ingredients. The process requires specific weather condition and take several months to complete. The fabric is medium to heavy weight.
The fabric is made from spun silk. the silkworms that created the silk were not killed. Jacquard Spun silk is made from these broken cocoons. The resulting short strands of silk are spun together in a manner similar to cotton or wool. The fabric may feel somewhat like cotton, but they are 100% pure silk. Soft and comfy.
PLEASE NOTE: because the dying process is lengthy and manually done, slight variation in color exists on the fabric, especially on the back of the fabric. I have taken multiple photos. Please check the photos carefully. Because of the increased fees and the pandemic, I can not take any returns. Thank you so much for your understanding.
