Early and rare apothecary or drug store countertopdisplay jar with etched lettering for “Beggs’ Little Giant Pills”. The Dakotastyle jar is very large measuring 15.5” to the top of the original stopper and7” across at its pedestal base. Theglass is thick and the jar is very heavy.The jar shows some light interior haziness which is not noticeable ifthe jar is filled with marbles or colored glass beads for display. There is onefairly large (0.5” long x 0.25” deep) chip on the inner lip of the lid (see photo #8) which isfortunately towards the back side of the jar and is not visible when the jar ison display. The remainder of the jar isfree from nicks, chips, and cracks. The large heavy matching stopper fitsperfectly and is in excellent condition with one small nick on the outer bottomedge. Includes one labeled glass vial or tube of Beggs’ Little Giant Pills thatis still sealed and has the original advertising flyer wrapped around the vial(showing that the Beggs Mfg. Co. was based in Chicago). A large and impressiveearly apothecary show globe that stands out in any display.
