ICONIC ANTIQUE CIRCA MARCH 1865 ALBUMEN PHOTOGRAPH OF GREAT FLOOD AT ROCHESTER NY - LOOKING DOWN MAIN STREET FOLLOWING THE FLOODING FROM THE GENESEE RIVER
Looking online, one can clearly see that this is the MOST ICONIC image around of the GREAT GENESEE RIVER FLOOD of the CITY of ROCHESTER in March of 1865 EXTANT - and UNPUBLISHED to boot!
There is one on Pinterest that is badly hand colored and slightly different than the one here on offer. This one is ALL original and is clearly a truly wonderfully intriguing image. Measures 9 5/8\" x 7 1/4\" in size on a 8\" x 10\" stiff card mount. the mount has a horrible red magic marker ID on the verso and was incorrectly dated \"1905\"! But the image is all in fine shape with very good sepia tones with a few unglued areas to the center right of the image seen only when the cardstock mount is flexed.
NOTICE THE PEOPLE WITH TOP HATS IN THE FOREGROUND STAYING OUT OF THE FLOODED AREAS INFRONT OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wear and any other aberrations consistent with age and use.
