This charming cup is decorated with strawberries, blossoms, and an iridescent finish on the inside and outside of the cup, and on top of the saucer. It has gold edging, stippling, and gold flowers with leaves on the saucer. When my granddaughters were young, they called the Strawberry Rainbow cup. It measures 3\" high, 3 1/2\" wide including handle, and the saucer is 5 5/8\" wide. It holds 5 oz. so it\'s a little smaller than the average 6 oz. teacup, though it \'s taller because of the pedestal.The label on the back of the saucer says \"WALES REG.US.PAT.OFF. Made in Japan.\" It has a picture of a crown in the middle. I think this mark came later than the Occupied Japan mark, but more modern Japanese ceramics don\'t register with the U.S. Patent Office. It looks nice with floral teacups, as the colors are a soft dark pink and peach with green leaves.
