J-C-65 Night-Scene of Roosevelt Stadium Johnson City Tenn Linen Premium Postcard:
$4.99

Hi,

My Ref-B-b

If a particular postcard has some additional information that I deem to be important, then it will be listed in an additional paragraph in this color italics below. My start times for any sales will be staggered from 7PM and up Eastern Standard Time if more then one item is listed on the same day. This may or may not be an sale item. You can just look at the photos and ignore everything else. If you do that, please just take a look at my shipping options!

You are looking at one of my Premium Postcards, hand selected by me because it standouts. The colors standout among other postcards and the content is extra special. I think you will agree with my observations! When you look at these postcards, you are transported back in time and immersed in a rich colored scene captured by the artistic eye of a talented photographer who gets no credit. A historic stadium built in 1938, it hosted many famous baseball games, high school football games and other sports events. It was demolished in 1985. If you look at the field, you will see a goal post setup for one of the many night-time football games held there.

Some postcards have an price written on the back in pencil on them. This was done by a previous dealer and could be over 30 years old. I don\'t alter any of the postcards that I obtain so please do not think that is the price or what it is worth! I do not erase those marks because it is now part of the postcards history.

Shipping-For $1.99, I will ship this out in a brand new archival safe soft-sleeve in a rigid photo mailer with a rip opening. This cost a little bit more but, you won\'t ruin your postcard when you open it unlike the standard mailers other sellers send it out in. Note that Standard does not come with tracking. For $5.99, I will ship this via USPS Ground Advantage with an upgraded Semi-Rigid BCW Postcard Sleeve. It does come with Tracking. You can choose your service after your purchase. Please Note- Standard Mail will be treated like any other regular mail and subject to sorting. A Do Not Bend Sticker can be ignored but a USPS Ground Advantage letter turns is into a Parcel and will be treated as such. A Do Not Bend Sticker will be honored. I learned that from the horses mouth at my local Post-Office!

Again-Please Note, if you choose Standard Mail, you will not get tracking. You will also see the postage on the envelope but that does not account for my packaging cost and soft sleeves. I don\'t skimp on my packaging.

Shipping is free when you purchase 8 or more postcards. I will refund you any overages for more than one postcard purchase. On these orders over 5 postcards, I reserve the right to upgrade you to USPS Ground Advantage and will refund you the appropriate amount. You will never overpay for shipping. If you have any specific shipping requests, please send me a message. If you order more than 10 postcards, I will automatically upgrade the free shipping with USPS Ground Advantage with tracking and for orders over $100.00, I will send your postcards out via USPS Priority Mail at no cost.

I use an expensive Epson FastFoto FF-680W to copy my postcards. Most scanners are really document scanners and do not show the postcards true colors, defects and more. I also copy at 600DPI which is twice as much as most postcards listed on . On that note, no postcard scanner can accurately interpret colors. Sometimes they are brighter then the posting. Sometimes they are muted.

Why buy from me? Not only do I offer you a nice collectable that I researched for you, I kind of know what I am talking about! I really do research most of the postcards I put up and 100% of all of the other collectables. If I make a mistake in any of my listings or if you have additional information...feel free to message me.

Postcard Type

These are Linen White Border Postcards. Yes, they did make these. White Border Postcards were first made to save on ink but with the switch to Linen Postcards in 1930, many postcard publishers filled the postcard to the edge but some carried over the White Border look. Linen Postcards are easily identified by their rough surface and if you look at them at an angle, you will see lines that go up and down. These postcards had a high rag content which gave them their distinctive feel on top of a slightly embossed surface. They really don\'t contain Linen but one can say that there is rag in some cloths. Some linen postcards might feel smoother than others. This is because of the rag content and how deep was the embroidery press. If you can see the horizontal and perpendicular lines across the postcard under some light, it falls into the linen postcard category. Some of these linen postcards have impressions that look like dots under a digital microscope. If I can\'t determine the type by feel, then I put it under the digital microscope to verify it. Can I make mistakes? Yes, but work with me first to figure it out!

I take my shipping seriously. If you have ever purchased from me in the past, you will know that. Paper goods and photos are sent completely surrounded by acid free archival quality papers and/or acid free PVC free Polypropylene bags and covers. This cost me well spent money. I also use a variety of recycled and new packaging including boxes and mailers. I try not to profit on my shipping. Please do not misinterpret my shipping charges. I take my time when packing anything anyone buys. I don\'t rush it, but at the same time, I don\'t overdue it. I hand select packaging materials that will not only protect the items value but will protect it during shipping. By placing a offer or buying it outright, you agree to any method I use to pack your item, new or used shipping material as I see fit.

What is the best thing about my packaging? They are easy to open! How many times have you received a package only to spend ten minutes trying to open it without destroying the contents!!! No extra tape, glue, staples, or my worst fear, items shoved between two pieces of cardboard with tape on every edge requiring a surgeon\'s scalpel to open it!!!

This is a new store for me but I have been on for over 27 years with perfect response.

I will be adding many more postcards, Zeppelin, Airship and Aviation related photos, postcards and a variety of relics over the next few days, weeks and months. Check back with me every week to see what I have added.

Please contact me first with any issues.

Thanks for looking!!!
