Vintage original cast bronze MGM Lion a.k.a. Leo the Lion, the famous MGM mascot. Lion studio desk paperweight Special \"Lucky Star\" Award. (ca. 1930s). An authentic piece of legendary MGM Studio history.MGM lion paperweight featuring the majestic mascot roaring on a ledge. With raised text reading, “Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Lion / Your Lucky Star” embossed on both sides of the base. Note that this is a different & rarer variant from the more common but similar \"The Greatest Star on the Screen\'\', vintage cast bronze paperweight also circa 1930s and reportedly given to executives and theater owners. The paperweight has a fading green felt bottom. Made by the former A. C. Rehrberger Co., Chicago, IL. in the 1930\'s.
The paperweight measures approx. 4.5\'\' x 2.5\'\' x 3.5\" tall and is in well preserved vintage condition and has no defects (see listing photos for detail).
