McKee Chalaine Blue Hard to Find Sugar Shaker - Great Lettering

CIRCA: 1920s / 30s

MEASUREMENT: 4 7/8" H. - 2 1/2" W.

CONDITION: McKee made this lovely square sugar shaker. The Chalaine Blue color is desirable and this lovely shaker has exceptionally good color. The glass parts of this fantastic piece are in Undamaged Condition without chips, or cracks. There are no chips on the sugar shaker body. You need to be awaare that top rim of the shaker where it has been ground has the usual roughness (very minor on this one) from the grinding. This is the way these shakers were made. The SUGAR lettering is fantastic. The lettering is completely intact (please see the photos - they are good). They show you exactly what to expect. The inside of the shaker is nice and clean with no residue. The aluminum lid is original. It has some very minor denting (easy to remove) but I am mentioning here for the sake of accuracy. If you decide to add this beauty to your shaker collection, you will not be disappointed with this beautiful piece.

Chalaine Blue(1930s) - McKee was one of the most innovative glass companies of the Depression Era. They were certainly well versed in what people wanted to decorate there kitchens with. They offered many colors and shades in milk glass to help complement the kitchen or dining room era. Chalaine Blue is a light robin's egg blue color that gave a homeowner more of a choice then just the standard Delphite color. Chalaine Blue kitchen items can be found in almost any shape available in the Delphite Blue. Chalaine Blue was quite popular, but it did not sell as well as Delphite. As a result, it is harder to find today. It is one of the prettiest Depression Glass colors to have ever been created so it is well worth the extra effort and time it takes to collect it.
